Chris and I were lucky enough to be invited to watch our good friends Daryl and Kristi get married a couple weekends ago! Daryl is from a small town North of here called Panaca, and Kristi's parents happen to have a vacation home in Pioche (a tiny little old mining town close by). They decided to keep it small and have family and close friends attend while they said their vows in Daryl's father's backyard. Which was SO wonderful and romantic. I've been to a lot of weddings, and let me tell you, they are so in love, it's like watching a happy ending to a movie!
We drove up there in my Dad's brand new Lexus (Mom and Dad watched the kiddos). High-falutin' Vegas folk. And, yes, we got pulled over. BUT, this town is SO small the cop knew Daryl's parents, knew he was getting married, and let us go. Well, Chris being a cop may have helped a smidge. We stayed in a tiny little hotel above a bar, where the bartender (also Daryl's cousin) checked us in. Yes, you read that right. Our room was called the Huntin' Shack. Pretty funny stuff. But, we had a memorable time in that tiny little town... something tells me we will be back. We were so honored to be one of the few that were able to witness them say their vows. We just love them and are SO happy for them!

That's a fine looking couple...

Is that mine cool or what?
We took a little ride up to the mine on the dune buggy... even after all the celebrating!
